Each additional ton of carbon dioxide equivalent emitted shrinks the summer Arctic sea ice cover by three square meters. One ton of CO₂e equals the amount of emissions caused by a one-way flight between London and New York. That is just one example of the impact we can have on our planet. Lowering carbon and equivalent greenhouse gases (including methane, nitrous oxide and more) emissions is essential to leaving a better world for future generations and avoiding the everyday impact of climate change.
